A good day to take the long way ✳Find a place for your next “what if we turn here?”
Keep the coin. Enter its number to start a prize claim.
Sometimes that means a lighthouse, a trail, or the best pancakes we’ve ever waited for. Sometimes it means laughing at a wrong turn. We’re sharing the places and little moments that make getting there half the fun.

LITTLE FINDSA few favorite real moments from the road. More stories coming as we go.
Every so often, we leave a small wooden keepsake along the way. This page will show the general area and whether a hunt is still open—never the hiding spot or coin number.
When we announce a real hunt, you’ll find its general location, adventure link, status, and claim window here.
Every so often, we hide a small wooden keepsake on one of our adventures. If you find one, it’s yours to keep—and its number can unlock a modest cash prize.
We’re not trying to see everything. We’re here for the conversations on the drive, the family-run spots, the hikes that surprise us, and the stories we’ll still be telling later. Thanks for being part of the ride.

“If you have to dig, climb, pry, break, dismantle, or disturb anything, you’re looking in the wrong place.”
The Long Way Together occasionally places collectible wooden treasure coins in publicly accessible locations as part of our travel adventures.
Each official coin has a unique identification number and a QR code directing finders to our website.
Eligible people who discover an active, unclaimed coin can submit it for verification and receive the cash prize assigned to that coin.
Participation is entirely voluntary.
No purchase, payment, entry fee, subscription, social media follow, like, share, or comment is necessary to participate.
Traveling to a location or searching for a coin is completely optional. The Long Way Together does not reimburse travel or other personal expenses.
Participants may use any publicly available clues without purchasing anything.
Our initial treasure hunts are conducted in Ohio.
Adults age 18 or older may submit prize claims directly.
People under 18 may participate in the search with appropriate supervision and permission, but a parent or legal guardian must submit any prize claim using the adult’s own name, email address, and payment information. The regular claim form must not collect personal information directly from a minor.
Friends and family may participate provided they do not receive advance knowledge of a coin’s location or other unfair assistance. The organizers, Luke and Megan, are not eligible to claim prizes.
Participation is subject to applicable laws and any additional eligibility restrictions announced for an individual hunt.
Our coins are intended to be easy to retrieve without damaging, disturbing, or dismantling anything.
If you have to dig, climb, pry, break, dismantle, or disturb anything, you’re looking in the wrong place.
Never enter restricted areas, trespass, damage property, disturb wildlife, remove landscaping, interfere with businesses, or disregard posted access restrictions.
Do not enter unsafe locations or take unnecessary risks.
The Long Way Together encourages participants to explore responsibly, respect other people, and leave locations as they found them.
Official coins may carry cash prizes of $5, $10, $20, $50, or occasionally $100.
Each coin’s prize value is assigned before that coin is placed.
Some hunts will announce the prize amount in advance. Others may be designated as mystery-prize hunts.
Prize values are not increased or reduced based on who finds a coin.
Each coin carries only one cash-prize entitlement.
Each official hunt will have a published starting date and claim deadline.
Unless a different period is clearly announced, claims must be submitted within 60 calendar days after publication of the associated treasure-hunt video. Posting day is day zero. Claims close at the end of the 11:59 p.m. minute, Eastern Time (Ohio), on the 60th day.
The website’s public tracker will identify whether a hunt is Active, Claim Pending, Claimed, or Expired.
After its deadline, a coin may still be kept as a collectible, but its cash-prize claim period has ended.
Visit thelongwaytogether.com and follow the “Found a Coin? Claim Your Prize” instructions.
The claim process requires:
Additional reasonable evidence may be requested to resolve a disputed claim.
Submission of a coin number does not automatically establish a valid claim or guarantee payment.
Each official coin can generate only one cash-prize payment.
A claim must be associated with a valid, deployed, unclaimed coin and submitted within the applicable deadline.
The first complete claim accepted by the system reserves the coin while we check the code, eligibility, and specific finding location. Later submissions are told that a claim has already been submitted. Contact us if you believe there is a mistake.
The prize goes to the first accepted submission that passes review. Submitting first does not override eligibility requirements or guarantee payment for an invalid claim.
A coin that has already been validly claimed does not generate another payment if it is later lost, transferred, or rediscovered.
Fraudulent, altered, fabricated, or materially misleading submissions may be rejected.
After verifying a valid claim, The Long Way Together will contact the winner using the submitted email address.
Our goal is to issue payment the same day. We aim to initiate payment within 48 hours after successful verification and receipt of the necessary, usable payment details, subject to payment-service delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Verified prizes are paid through PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle, as agreed with the winner. Payment details are arranged privately after claim verification; the website does not request banking details, payment passwords, or security codes.
Winners are never required to pay a claim fee or provide passwords, account login credentials, or one-time security codes.
The finder may keep the wooden coin as a collectible souvenir.
The coin does not need to be returned to receive an eligible, verified prize.
Verified winners may be invited to share an additional photo and short written story or a brief selfie video describing their experience. This optional testimonial media is separate from the claim process; no photo is required to claim a prize.
An optional $5 testimonial bonus may be offered for an eligible submission with separate, explicit authorization for promotional use.
This opportunity is completely voluntary. Declining does not affect the original prize.
No positive statement, favorable review, or scripted endorsement is required.
If a testimonial is published, The Long Way Together will disclose the incentive appropriately.
Photographs, videos, or testimonials will not be published without separate permission. Submissions involving minors require appropriate guardian authorization.
Claim information will be used to verify submissions, communicate with participants, resolve disputes, administer prizes, and maintain accurate records.
Personal information and specific finding-location details will not automatically be published.
The Long Way Together will not require participation in marketing communications as a condition of receiving a prize.
Our Privacy Notice below explains how we handle claim information.
The Long Way Together independently organizes and administers these hunts.
They are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or officially associated with TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or their parent companies. Participants release these platforms from liability relating to the promotion to the extent permitted by applicable law.
When participating through YouTube, submissions must also comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines. Submissions that violate applicable platform requirements may be disqualified.
The Long Way Together may pause a hunt when reasonably necessary because of safety concerns, loss of access, suspected fraud, or circumstances beyond the organizers’ control.
The organizers will not retroactively change an eligible coin’s predetermined prize amount or arbitrarily deny a legitimate claim.
Material updates, corrections, and status changes will be communicated through the official website.

The official hunt page and these rules together establish the announced start date, deadline, prize information, and conditions applicable to an individual hunt.
These rules apply to announced hunts. A coin must be active and within its announced claim period to qualify.
Found a coin? Start a claim ↘Version 1.0 · Effective October 21, 2026
When someone submits a treasure-coin claim, we may collect the coin identification number; the adult claimant’s name and email address; specific details of where the coin was found; confirmation of eligibility and acceptance of the Official Treasure Hunt Rules; the date and time of submission; additional information voluntarily supplied to resolve a disputed claim; and limited payment-service information needed to deliver an approved prize.
Our website and service providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, cookies or similar technologies, and basic usage data needed to operate and protect the site.
The claim system uses Wix hosting and private Wix CMS records. It checks whether a coin is active, within its claim period, and unreserved before opening the contact form, then checks again when saving a complete claim. No photo is required. Claim details are saved for private manual review; the claim form does not send them through Wix Forms.
The claim system uses a secure browser-session cookie and private request counters to limit repeated attempts. These counters do not contain names, emails, finding locations, or IP addresses. The page loads Google Fonts and links to social platforms without embedding their video players. Our hosting provider may process technical information to operate and protect the site. The claim-session cookie lasts up to one hour and is used to operate and protect the claim process.
We use this information to validate coin claims and identify duplicate submissions; communicate with claimants; confirm eligibility and administer cash prizes; resolve disputes or suspected fraudulent claims; maintain records of awarded prizes; operate and protect the website; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not require visitors to follow our social media accounts or subscribe to marketing messages to claim prizes.
Our normal prize-claim form is for adults age 18 or older. When a person under 18 finds a coin, a parent or legal guardian must submit the claim using the adult’s own contact information and complete the required eligibility and rules acknowledgment.
We do not intentionally request a minor’s name, email address, payment information, or identifiable photograph through the ordinary claim process.
No photo upload is required to claim a coin. Describe the exact place you found it, such as under a particular bench or beside a trail sign. A town or state alone is not enough.
Do not include your home address, current whereabouts, or other unnecessary personal details. Your finding-location description is for private claim review.
Verified winners may separately choose to submit a photograph, written story, or short video about their experience. Participation is voluntary and does not affect their original prize.
If a testimonial bonus is offered, its terms will be communicated separately. We will request explicit permission before publishing testimonial materials. The permission process will identify where the material may appear, including our website or social media channels. Any applicable incentive disclosure will accompany published testimonial content.
Testimonials and promotional consent will remain separate from required coin verification and prize claims. Any testimonial invitation and permission request will be handled separately.
We may use website hosting, form-processing, storage, email, and payment-service providers to administer the website and deliver prizes. These providers may process information as necessary to perform their services.
We do not sell claimant contact information to advertisers. We do not publicly disclose private coin-inventory records, claim-verification information, or payment details.
Information may be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud, or security incidents. Verified winners can arrange payment privately through PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle. Those providers handle payment information under their own privacy policies; do not enter banking details or security codes in the coin claim form.
Claim records, finding-location details, coin inventory, and request counters are held in private Wix collections. Public visitors cannot read or edit these collections. Access is limited by Wix permissions to authorized site administrators and collaborators with the relevant CMS permissions.
The website checks claim requests on the server and uses browser-session verification and request limits. No photo upload is required. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
We intend to retain personal claim information only for as long as reasonably necessary to verify claims, deliver prizes, resolve disputes, maintain appropriate financial records, and meet legal obligations.
We remove personal details from unsuccessful claims within 90 days after the relevant hunt closes, unless a dispute or legal obligation requires retention; winner payout and transaction records, retained for the period reasonably required for accounting, taxes, or legal compliance; and optional published testimonials and consent records, retained while the testimonial remains authorized and in use, subject to applicable withdrawal rights and legal obligations.
Retention is managed by the organizers rather than by automatic deletion. We retain non-personal coin status to prevent duplicate claims. Unsubmitted contact-form details are not saved as a claim. Request-counter records contain no claimant contact details and are reviewed for cleanup. Provider backups and technical logs follow the provider’s retention processes.
Participants may contact hello@thelongwaytogether.com to ask about their personal claim information, request corrections, or request deletion. We will review requests and respond as appropriate, subject to legitimate recordkeeping obligations and the capabilities of the services holding the information. Requests are handled privately by the organizers.
We may update this Privacy Notice when our website, claim procedures, or data practices change. The effective version and its date will be displayed on our website.
